Ground Staff doesn't know how to handle premium club members

I am a Maharaja club Platinum member. Today while I travelled on this flight, I was having a backpack and a cabin luggage. Despite being called early to board, credit to my Status with the Airline, the ground staff at the gate wanted me to handover the cabin luggage citing flight being full. I gently asked the staff to put a priority tag on the bag to get my luggage early. Upon boarding, I saw the flight was not full and that there was enough space for Premium members travelling in economy class to put their cabin bags. Upon arrival in DEL, the bag also arrived late which was not done. Airline needs to learn a lot on saving precious time of the premium members.
